Trainings
A few years ago, I did an professional development training on Pinterest. This was when Pinterest was pretty much in it's infancy and even though we had quite a few teachers on it, it took quite a bit of convincing to get teachers rolling with it. Now, I've really changed how I personally and professionally do things on Pinterest.
Currently, I have two accounts that I manage. I have my personal Pinterest account that has 60 boards and over 2000 pins. Yes, that may seem like a lot but I've been pinning for several years and I'll admit I have a bit of a food/pinning obsession. I've also reorganized my Pinterest account a few times to create new boards. I pin both work related and personal hobby ideas in my personal account.
The other account I manage is the one for my district. I'm really pushing to get this one to be more collaborative since so many teachers in the district use Pinterest. You can add an unlimited number of pinners to boards. I've set up 30 boards currently. This one has been thought through on the onset more. I created board covers using Canva (directions to follow soon). And not only do they look great, it makes it easy to search the list of boards. Below is an example of one of the board covers:

When creating your Pinterest boards, I'd highly recommend thinking through how you want to organize your boards. And I'd also recommend being okay with the fact that you may need to reorganize in the future. The great part about Pinterest is that pretty much anything you find on the internet can be pinned to a board. You can also upload images to Pinterest. This is a great way to share great projects that you as teachers create in your classroom.
Once you create your boards, start pinning! And then start following some like minded pinners. You can link you Pinterest account to your social network accounts which makes finding friends even easier. I'd recommend looking at friends boards and follow only those that interest you rather than following all their boards. This will save you later on because then you won't have to unfollow those boards that don't interest you at all.
